Prepare: Set up Yard Driving Rules, Clash Criteria, and Notification Stakeholders

Your TOS data reader is configured, the Yard Clash Predictor is installed:

• Setup the yard driving distances by applying yard geometry and driving rules
• Describe the yard equipment driving and container handling speed
• Define rules for distributing moves on the yard to container handling equipment
• Set notification criteria for exceeding maximum volume of handling equipment per yard block (e.g. max 2 RTGs per block)
• Describe the notification stakeholders, their communication preferences -email or SMS- and select the message contents

The Yard Clash Predictor reads your TOS data automatically: Containers on your yard are picked up, planned quay crane moves are paired with the yard driving rules enabling the Yard Clash Predictor to establish the yard impact time. Based on your input definition of a clash, yard clashes are identified and notifications are sent out based on your own instructions.

Preventive Action: Prevent the Clashes from Appearing

The Yard Clash Predictor prompts the colleagues, who can prevent the clashes from happening in the first place, to take action. They might need to replan the quay crane sequence, to re-assign discharge blocks, or to carry out household moves for containers to be loaded, moving them to other yard blocks. Let your competent colleagues act in time on the predictions from the Yard Clash Predictor!

Validate: Ensure that Preventive Action removes Predicted Yard Clashes

The Yard Clash Predictor checks TOS data constantly and automatically , making sure that your changed plans and relocated containers positions are used for validating that your actions have eliminated the predicted yard clashes successfully.
