What, if i need to monitor more than 6 trucks?

Request additional sets of 6-IoT GPS trackers (6, 12, 18, 24...)

For how long is tracking ongoing?

Tracking stickiness is configurable in settings by a click, f.ex. to 1 or 3 hours. All alarms (outside yard area, idling) are shown within this stickiness timing.

How do i monitor trucks if on the go?

You can access the live tracking map on a smartphone, but you can also receive notifications by email, Facebook or Skype messenger whenever an alarm is raised.

How does alarms work?

You get notified when idle, leaving terminal area

What does it cost?

No upfront license costs.

Only pay a (low) monthly subscription fee per 6-GPS trackers, which include the pre-configured IoT GPS-trackers with low-cost data roaming SIM card pre-installed. Prices include IoT GPS-trackers, SIM cards, support, hosting, cloud software, maintenance and occasional feature upgrades.

Do I pay for support?

Next day response e-mail support is included in the monthly subscription fees, including assistance setting up relevant stakeholder notification and alarm configuration.

Will i have any additional costs?

You need to settle the SIM card roaming costs. Note that IoT GPS-trackers are setup to consume very limited data; in case of no movement, IoT GPS-tracker will not transmit any data at all, and map will raise idling alarm, if out of berth geo-fence.

When is the system available after sign-up?

After you sign-up, an invoice is emailed to you including 3 months subscription fee. Upon receipt of your payment and the IoT GPS-trackers, you can start right away.

How is facility geo-fencing working?

You circle in your facility in the cloud geo-fence configurator. If truck IoT GPS-tracker is detected outside the terminal geo-fence, alarm is raised.

How is idling alarm working?

If IoT GPS-tracker location is detected unchanged within the set tolerance and time, idle alarm is raised.

Note: if berth area is geo-fenced in the cloud geo-fence configurator, idling alarm is not raised when truck is waiting under the quay crane (berth is desired waiting area, in order to prevent quay crane stoppages).

How can i monitor the live map?

By Windows desktop/laptop or from any smartphone/tablet device on any platform (HTML5)

How do i get the IoT GPS-trackers?

The pre-configured IoT GPS-trackers with pre-installed low-cost data roaming SIM card are mailed to you, or hand-delivered by your local arl-contact.

Can truck driver mis-use the SIM card?

SIM card is locked for telephone voice calls.

What if a tracker is damaged or lost?

You can order IoT GPS-trackers in pools of 6 (6, 12, 18, 24 etc..). Mal-functioning IoT GPS-trackers are replaced for free within first year.

How do I make sure i don't use SIM card roaming, when tracker not in use?

IoT GPS-trackers include a start/stop button; verify in cloud map that IoT GPS-tracking is stopped.

Can I add photos to the smartphone recordings?

Yes. Embedded photo capability is built-in to the app. Photos are sync-ed to cloud and included in reports, and photo links are included in Excel extracts.

Can I place visual marks on photos?

Yes, drawing on top of photo is available after photo is taken and before it is saved.

Sometimes it's useful to add verbal comments.

You can type verbal comments, or you can use standard Android speech-to-text conversion instead of typing.

Something smarter than typing license plate, shipment IDs available?

App comes with a build-in OCR scanner. App can scan and capture any text.

How do I get the app on my smartphone(s)?

Download from Google Play and click "install".

When can I start?

Once you sign-up and settle first invoice you can start right away. Sign up today, start tomorrow. Seriously!

Who has access to my data?

All your data belongs to you and is not accessed by any other party. Reports and extracts are shared only with stakeholders you select.

How does smartphone connect to the server?

Through a simple internet connection (data packet or wifi).

Can smartphone be setup to only run this business app?

Android devices can be switched to "kiosk mode" so only specific applications can run, and users do not have access to other apps on the smartphone, such as calls, social media and browsers.

Do I pay for support?

Email support (in English) is included in the monthly fees. Regular upgrade of features is also included.

Any additional software or hosting costs?

No server or software is required. The smartphone app is already bundled with a running hosting service. No additional costs.

Can I request improvements or customizations?

Your ideas for improvements are welcome! We will assess, if the ideas are relevant for other users, and can be implemented in future versions.

For how long do I have to commit?

You settle costs 3 months ahead at all times, and you can cancel anytime. When prepaid payments expire access to the app is removed.

How smartphones connect to the cloud?

By cellular data connection (SIM card with data plan required) or Wi-Fi.

What if Internet is unavailable?

Continue working on smartphone. As soon as internet again available, all recorded data is sync'ed to cloud with original timestamps.

Can recordings be adjusted in the cloud before sharing with stakeholders?

No. Original recordings, including timestamp and GPS location tag recorded onsite cannot be tampered with after initial recording.

For how long is data available in the cloud?

All loggings are kept for 3 months. A 3-years archieve feature is available upon request.

Can I export my data?

You can pull data manually in Excel CSV format or get them exported automatically in HTML, PDF, CSV, XML, and other text formats to email, (S)FTP or Google Drive folders.

What browsers are supported?

Cloud apps run in all modern desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers including MS Edge, Firefox, Chrome, browsers based on Chrome engine (Opera, Yandex, Vivaldi, Brave, etc), and Safari.

Can I take photos with external camera?

Yes. Use external USB wired camera with USB Camera app to take photos; or take photos with wireless camera like GoPro HERO and download photos to the smartphone connecting to camera Wi-Fi hotspot. In arl app attach photos from smartphone photo gallery.

What are the technical requirements to Android smartphone or tablet?

A phone or tablet with the following specifications (or better) is fine:

Operating system: Android 7.0
Google Play app and Google Services installed.
Please note: modern Huawei devices do not have these and should not be used.
Screen resolution and size: 480 x 800, 4″
Memory: minimum 1 GB, recommended 2 GB of RAM
GPS sensor: required
Camera: recommended, with autofocus

Screen brightness should be suitable for work under strong sunlight.

What about battery?

Apps are by optimized for low battery use. You can let each new labour-shift carry a new fully charged device (Android smartphones are inexpensive), or provide external battery/ power bank to ensure continuous onsite work.

Is my Android device good enough?

Install and run free AIDA64 app that would show true characteristics of your Android device. Pay attention to Android (OS version), Display (screen resolution), System (memory size), and Devices (cameras info) sections. Remeber some noname devices may forge the system information in system Settings > About phone menu.
