Can logs be trusted?

Loggings are solely recorded in real-time from the Android phone; no post-editing or tampering is possible.

Who have access to my reefer loggings?

Logs are strictly confidential and only accessible by your own users, or external parties like vsa partners or arrival port vetenarian authorities, you choose to share selected loggings with.

What are the costs?

No upfront license costs.

Just a monthly subscription fee, and usage fees depending on number of vessel logging. All prices include support, hosting, cloud and mobile app software, maintenance and regular feature upgrades.

Do I pay for support?

Next day response e-mail support is included in the monthly subscription fees.

What are the startup costs?

EUR 225 per month per vessel.

When is the system available after sign-up?

After you sign-up, an invoice is emailed to you including 3 months subscription fee for the number of vessels you sign-up. Upon receipt of your payment, access to the system is provided.

How about server and hosting costs?

No servers or server software is required; all cloud server costs are included in the monthly subscription fees.

Costs for improved features?

Your ideas for improvements are welcome! Improved features are provided regularly -no additional fees.

What are the technical requirements to Android smartphone or tablet?

A phone or tablet with the following specifications (or better) is fine:

  • Operating system: Android 7.0
  • Google Play app and Google Services installed.
    Please note: modern Huawei devices do not have these and should not be used.
  • Screen resolution and size: 480 x 800, 4″
  • Memory: minimum 1 GB, recommended 2 GB of RAM
  • GPS sensor: required
  • Camera: recommended, with autofocus

Screen brightness should be suitable for work under strong sunlight.

What about battery?

Apps are by optimized for low battery use. You can let each new labour-shift carry a new fully charged device (Android smartphones are inexpensive), or provide external battery/ power bank to ensure continuous onsite work.

What are supported barcode standards?

  • EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code-39, Code-93, Code-128, ITF, Codabar
  • QR Code, Data Matrix, PDF-417, AZTEC

Is my Android device good enough?

Install and run free AIDA64 app that would show true characteristics of your Android device. Pay attention to Android (OS version), Display (screen resolution), System (memory size), and Devices (cameras info) sections. Remeber some noname devices may forge the system information in system Settings > About phone menu.

How is reefer loggings passed to cloud during sea passage?

If no on-board WiFi, loggings are exported from phone to PC via cable and emailed to the cloud. If phone supports USB OTG (what is ORG - read below) then loggings can be copied to PC via usb flash drive.

How to minimize data traffic charges?

Android system by itself may generate substantial data traffic which amount depends on phone supplier. The system traffic could be expected in a range of 10-20Mb per month in average. Our recommendations:

  • use phones with lightweight Andriod builds like Google Nexus breed carrying no extra branded software;
  • avoid installation of additional apps, de-install all apps that can be removed;
  • disable automatic apps update in Google Play;
  • whenever possible use cheap land-based WiFi;
  • in case of local GSM 3G connection purchase 'unlimited' data package;
  • avoid high GSM data roaming charges by using app data extraction from phone via USB OTG and communicating data files to cloud by other means such as email.

Can I add photos to the smartphone recordings?

Yes. Embedded photo capability is built-in to the app. Photos are sync-ed to cloud and included in reports, and photo links are included in Excel extracts.

Can I place visual marks on photos?

Yes, drawing on top of photo is available after photo is taken and before it is saved.

Sometimes it's useful to add verbal comments.

You can type verbal comments, or you can use standard Android speech-to-text conversion instead of typing.

Something smarter than typing license plate, shipment IDs available?

App comes with a build-in OCR scanner. App can scan and capture any text.

How do I get the app on my smartphone(s)?

Download from Google Play and click "install".

When can I start?

Once you sign-up and settle first invoice you can start right away. Sign up today, start tomorrow. Seriously!

Who has access to my data?

All your data belongs to you and is not accessed by any other party. Reports and extracts are shared only with stakeholders you select.

How does smartphone connect to the server?

Through a simple internet connection (data packet or wifi).

Can smartphone be setup to only run this business app?

Android devices can be switched to "kiosk mode" so only specific applications can run, and users do not have access to other apps on the smartphone, such as calls, social media and browsers.

How many cloud logins does the sign-up support?

As many as you like. You create yourself, or ask support to create for you.

What are the software license fees?

Nil, no license fees. You only pay a monthly subscription fee per site or vessel depending on features enabled, and fees for business transactions.

How many smartphones does the sign-up cover?

Unlimited. You create new smartphone pair codes yourself, or ask support for assistance.

Do I pay for support?

Email support (in English) is included in the monthly fees. Regular upgrade of features is also included.

Any additional software or hosting costs?

No server or software is required. The smartphone app is already bundled with a running hosting service. No additional costs.

Can I request improvements or customizations?

Your ideas for improvements are welcome! We will assess, if the ideas are relevant for other users, and can be implemented in future versions.

For how long do I have to commit?

You settle costs 3 months ahead at all times, and you can cancel anytime. When prepaid payments expire access to the app is removed.

How smartphones connect to the cloud?

By cellular data connection (SIM card with data plan required) or Wi-Fi.

What if Internet is unavailable?

Continue working on smartphone. As soon as internet again available, all recorded data is sync'ed to cloud with original timestamps.

Can recordings be adjusted in the cloud before sharing with stakeholders?

No. Original recordings, including timestamp and GPS location tag recorded onsite cannot be tampered with after initial recording.

For how long is data available in the cloud?

All loggings are kept for 3 months. A 3-years archieve feature is available upon request.

Can I export my data?

You can pull data manually in Excel CSV format or get them exported automatically in HTML, PDF, CSV, XML, and other text formats to email, (S)FTP or Google Drive folders.

What browsers are supported?

Cloud apps run in all modern desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers including MS Edge, Firefox, Chrome, browsers based on Chrome engine (Opera, Yandex, Vivaldi, Brave, etc), and Safari.

Can I take photos with external camera?

Yes. Use external USB wired camera with USB Camera app to take photos; or take photos with wireless camera like GoPro HERO and download photos to the smartphone connecting to camera Wi-Fi hotspot. In arl app attach photos from smartphone photo gallery.
